Eaton Canyon Swift Water - Karen Winters Watercolor

May 1st, 2008

“Swift Water - Eaton Canyon”

15 x 22 watercolor on paper

Well, today was the day from computer hell. Once in a very long time my Mac system gets corrupted and I need to reinstall system. However it got balky it now seems resolved. I painted this yesterday but didn’t have time to put any finishing touches on it until I got the puter back in order today. Many thanks to my dear husband for helping with the troubleshooting.

This painting was inspired by the winter and spring rain we had at Eaton Canyon in Altadena (near Pasadena.) Although the water wasn’t deep it was abundant in the wide ravine and fun to paint.

  1. So you use a Mac! They are good for graphics I believe. I had a little Mac Classic ten or more years ago. Today is 15 years since the World Wide Web was introduced. I wonder what our grandchildren will be using in 10 years time. Nice picture as usual. I can’t do much in the way of drawing/painting as I’m so outraged by the political events in Fiji - a publisher deported even after a court order. Sent to Korea of all places as the plane to Oz refused to take him. Can’t think straight I am so crranky.

  2. It has a carries a bit of the arid look of southern California even in the spring. Great feeling of rushing in the water. Love that tealy blue you’ve used in this.
