Family stuff

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

We’re doing family stuff over this weekend - here and there - more art coming soon.
Mandu is boarded and well taken care of. The vet said they had the “spa” ready for her.
Oh, and don’t miss “The Devil Wears Prada” if you’re a Meryl Streep or Ann Hathaway fan.

The Chowhound, er cat

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

During the few weeks that Mandu lost her vision and much of her appetite, we started giving her bowls of half and half or even whipping cream just to get some liquid and calories in her. Not surprisingly, she took a liking to it, and would lap cream even when she rejected her usual cat […]

So I Asked for a Sign - 2

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

A car seen in a Big Brown parking lot … in the Circle of Honor space reserved for employees with perfect driving records.
What’s that? You say your teenage son did it? Riiiiiiiight.

Cupertino, here he comes

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

Our Bruin son, Mike, got the news yesterday about his summer internship.
He (and we) couldn’t be more thrilled, seeing as how he’ll be working at a company whose products he’s used since he was two years old.
(Two? Yes, two - anyone remember a Hypertalk-based product called Manhole?)
Anyway, as hardcore Mac loyalists from […]

New art tomorrow

Monday, December 26th, 2005

There will be new art here tomorrow. Right now, I’m still cleaning up all the falalalala and enjoying the company of our daughter, home briefly from New York, and our son, home from college.
In the meantime, why don’t you mosey on over to Russ Stutler’s new Sketching Discussion Page and join in a conversation. If […]

BCF Silly face?

Friday, November 11th, 2005

We were supposed to make a BCF with a silly face? Well, my bad.
Can I just say that my face looks like a hammer and let it go at that?
Didn’t think so.
OK, I’ll do one later, work calls.

Go Bruins - Go Mike!

Monday, October 31st, 2005

If you missed the UCLA-Stanford game Saturday you missed another incredible white-knuckler.
Note to Bruins: yes, we like drama, but waiting until last 9 minutes of the fourth quarter to score 21 points and tie it up at 24-24 is just a little too much excitement for the likes of me. (The score was Stanford […]

Dia de Los Muertos 2005 - “Papel” Picado

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

Once again it’s time for El Dia de Los Muertos, as it’s known in Los Angeles and other cities with a heavy Latin American influence. We also call it Halloween, but I think the ‘muertos’ theme is much more interesting, as are the traditions that accompany it.
Every year I create an artistamp to swap with […]

Not again

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

Fire season has begun in So. California. The good news is that so far only one structure has been endangered and only one firefighter injured. The bad news is that 17,000 acres have been consumed and the season is young. We still have months of Santa Ana winds to go before the rainy season kicks […]
