California Art Club – Women’s City Club Show

“As the Parade Passed By”
12 x 15 watercolor on paper

Yesterday I was very happy to learn that this painting has been juried into the upcoming California Art Club exhibition, “Concertos in Color” at the historic Blinn House in Pasadena. The opening reception will be December 7, from 5-7 pm and it is free to all to attend. I hope that you will join me there to see wonderful works of art from painters all over California. I am thrilled and honored that this is the third time my work has been included in the biannual show.

I am also posting this as a reminder that the holidays are coming and I am delighted to paint portraits (and other subject matter) on commission. So if you’ve been thinking of a very special gift for a friend, family member or business associate, please write me. (karen@karenwinters.com) … and put commission in the subject line.

Aww, My Sweet Man, again. You know because I’ve told you before, Karen, that some of your portraits get me in
some way until, after awhile, I feel that I know the person. Maybe it’s the way you do your eyes–I dunno. This dear man watching his parade is one of them. So that
every time he shows up here, my first reaction is “Oh, good for you, sir!” As if it were HE that had won this honor. I don’t know whether I could part with this gentleman if he should move away after a show.

Absolutely gorgeous, Karen! Well deserving of getting into the show. CONGRATULATIONS!! I know you get into many shows and you get awards all over the place, but this is special… Way to go!!

You do just as nice at portrait painting as with your landscapes. This is just great.

I have always loved this one, Karen…beautiful, expressive face, and a bravura handling of watercolor. Congratulations, AGAIN!
