This painting started as an experiment in trying to paint two surfaces which I find challenging – metal and glass.

   What a challenge indeed. My eyes are particularly drawn to the base of the lamp — yet the glass is just as striking as the metal itself. Beautiful.

   love this lamp. i looked at it a couple times last night and then took the chance to look at it again today. it seems to the looker that it was so easy to do b/c the brush strokes are just so sure and continuous. it’s just a joy to look at. if it were mine, i wouldn’t part w/ it!
