About Us

Founded in 1946, the Verdugo Hills Art Association is the largest and one of the most active art communities in the Foothills. Exhibitions, juried shows, workshops and monthly meetings provide members from beginners to professionals the opportunity to develop their skills and meet fellow artists.

Monthly meetings

Notable artists from a wide variety of fields including all facets of painting, photography and sculpture demonstrate their techniques and share their insights. Monthly meetings also offer members an opportunity to display their work and compete for Artist of the Month honors.

Exhibitions

Several exhibitions aresponsored each year, including three juried competitions which provide you the opportunity to showcase your best work and receive acknowledgment and public recognition.
All accepted entries in juried competitions aredisplayed in either La Cañada or Pasadena and Artist of the Month winners arefeatured in the Association’s monthly newsletter as well as at a special June exhibit in La Cañada. Invitations from merchants, businesses and clubs, in the area, also provide VHAA members with new locations and exhibit opportunities for their art.

Video Library

An extensive library of over 100 art videos and DVDs is available to you as a member only. Providing art instruction as well as enjoyment, this well-stocked resource ranges from basic instruction videos to tools and advanced techniques of the masters.
Workshops
All-day workshops featuring a variety of media and techniques are offered throughout the year. These special weekend events con ducted by professional artists and instructors not only offer instruction, but a chance to network and socialize with fellow artists. Newsletter
The Association’snewsletter provides valuable tips and information on promoting and displaying your art, book and DVD reviews, a calendar of current community events and shows, and art-related resources and information that make it an indispensible tool for developing and showcasing your art.
