This is another in my series of complementary color fall paintings - this time using violet and yellow (gold) as the two complements. The location for this painting was Silver Lake, near the city of June Lake, California, in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. The aspens were approaching peak color and the blue violets of the mountains reflecting into the lake was wonderful to behold in the early morning.
