Listen up - it’s another new show

March 14th, 2008

“Listen Up” - watercolor on paper 5 x 7

OK, so this is the final fourth of four shows I’ve got work in right now. In addition to the Verdugo Hills Small Image show, the California Art Club “Arroyo Seco” show at the Pas. library and the “Artists of the Canyon” show at Chevy Chase country club, somehow I decided to enter this piece in the Body of Art show at the jFerrari gallery in Atwater Village. The theme of the show is … ahem … body parts … and artists were invited to submit paintings that featured a particular part of anatomy. I know, wild concept. But I had this ear lying around and so I decided to enter it and the gallery owner chose to include it.

If you’re free Saturday night in LA, come to the reception at the JFerrari Gallery in South Glendale (Atwater Village/LA) on Glendale Blvd. and see the body parts littering the walls. (Yes, as a matter of fact this may, in fact, be the strangest thing I’ve ever painted!)

  1. I participated in a project on WetCanvas once with a “body parts” theme, so it doesn’t sound that strange to me. The fact that the ear was lying around, however, is slightly worrying ;-) It’s a great ear!

  2. Is that kind of like, “keeping an ear to the ground”? That should be an interesting show. Wish I was close enough to attend, I’d live to see some of your art up close and in person. The ear is very cool!

  4. Pf (smirking)! Yeah, lucky thing you had this ear”.. lying around”, indeed. How truly Van Gogh of you. ;) It’s a great ear! Buay, Busy, Karen. Have fun tonight! xox!

  5. Wendee … LOL ! and the moral to the story is … do your EDM challenges, folks, you might even find an extra use for one. Like, maybe there’ll be an all eggbeater show, huh?

    Thanks everyone for your comments.
