Some clouds

July 2nd, 2006

We’re into summer reruns for a day or two until I can get caught up with my scanning. Here’s an sketchbook painting from last year that ties in with the current challenge “clouds,” and I’ll be posting some new responses to this challenge soon.

Notice how even though these clouds are last year’s model, they are still the perfect accessory to those perennial favorites, bushes and dirt.

  8. Don’t know how you pulled that off, Karen. Usually patterns cross my eyes and make me dizzy, but your clouds and sky hang in such a soothing spaciousness. A summer day that turns me back to age 13 and I have to feel that sand between my toes.

  9. Beautiful, simple, gorgeous. The blues in the shaows work really well, and the simple indication of the road. I can almost feel the airiness here. Like the shaows crossing the road. Great splashy watercolor.
