Illustration Friday - “Small”

If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know I’m not exactly an elf and sprite drawing kind of woman. But seeing as how it’s almost Christmas, the time of year when practically anything can happen, especially magical things, well, I sort of got carried away.
This illustration of the theme “Small” began with a photograph which I took last year, with extra paint and effects added in Corel Painter, then finished in Photoshop CS.

Beautiful, soft wistful colors, which bring focus to the little sprite. I love this magical, wintery scene.
Incredible colors, masterfully executed. At first I thought it was a little robin, huddled against the cold. A very beautiful painting.
That’s lovely–if that’s any indication maybe you SHOULD do this sort of thing more often.
