Blind Contour Furday - Take 2

September 29th, 2005

Click the picture to see the rest of the comic book about my often-thwarted attempts to draw Cat Mandu, our 21 year old brown tabby who stays alive through sheer orneriness, attitude and daily youth injections. You’d think with the amount of time I spend nursing and kowtowing to her she’d have a little compassion and hold still for a drawing session, wouldn’t you? Of course not. She’s a CAT. She’s OLD. She gets to do whatever she damn well pleases.

It occurred to me that maybe I should mention for anyone visiting here who isn’t part of the Blind Contour Cult (BCC) that these are drawn without looking at the paper. To see more drawings of other cult members, go to Inkfinger and check out the column on the left hand side.

  4. Aw, that’s brilliant!!! Now I’m grinning, it’s so funny! I liked the thought bubble

Cats are terrible to draw, so uncooperative! When I was drawing my BC last night my cat came and sat directly in front of my subject and would not budge. So I tried to draw her..THEN she moved!

  13. Gosh, Karen! That was…Brilliant! That’s really the catch-all word for your BC cat comic. I so enjoyed that! What’s Kitty’s name, or did I miss that somehow (which I’m pretty good at doing)?

  14. This is a wonderful use of the frustration at a constantly moving cat! Mine can’t even sleep without shifting something as soon as I decide to draw them. It’s radar!

  19. Karen, I love the creativity behind this comic. I think this is the reason I can only draw from pictures! Even buildings don’t seem to want to stand still for me! :-)
